KCAC has a sovereign plant, which means our plant goes all the back to the original land grants from the State of Texas. We can trace every piece of property in Kendall County from the current owner all the way back to the original land grant.
We are locally owned and operated, and our professional and courteous staff has a combined title experience in excess of 169 years. KCAC has been voted “The Best Title Company in Kendall County” by the readers of the Boerne Star on numerous occasions, and was voted the “Business of the Year” by the members of the Greater Boerne Area Chamber of Commerce
We’re proud of our long history and pride ourselves on being the most responsive and progressive title company in the county. Give us a call and we’ll show you how “Experience and Service Make the Difference.”
H.L. Davis, a local Insurance Agent, had foreseen the need for an abstract/title company in Kendall County. Enlisting the wisdom and experience of Paul Holekamp, Kendall County Tax Assessor, they formed a partnership and Kendall County Abstract Company was established.
Devoting the majority of his time to his Insurance Agency, Davis sold his interest to Holekamp who would eventually sell, but continue to manage the company until his death in 1959.
Gordon L. Hollon, an up-and-coming attorney, purchased KCAC in 1955 and announced he would continue operating out of the KCAC Building where it still operates today. As the company grew along with the population, Hollon expanded from a corner office to incorporate the entire building in 1985.
Perhaps one of his largest contributions to KCAC during his 55-year tenure as owner was in 1991 when he hired Laurie Lang to assume the management position. Laurie, who had never met a stranger, would redefine the words “service and commitment” and create a work environment that we still strive for today.
Laurie was joined by her husband, Michael D. Lang, in 1997 as a business manager and the Langs purchased the company from the Hollon Estate in 2002. Together they ran the company until Laurie’s passing in 2008. Mike continued to run the company until his retirement in 2021.
Ashlee Pfeiffer, who was hired by Mike and Laurie under Hollons ownership in 2000, was promoted to Manager in 2002. Ashlee was joined by her husband, Rick Pfeiffer, in 2020 to fulfill the purchase agreement upon Mike’s retirement in 2021. The Pfeiffer’s are excited to continue the legacy that KCAC has provided to Kendall County and surrounding communities for over 100 years. As a Pillar of the community, Kendall County Abstract Company has been locally owned and operated since its inception in 1913.
